Challenge by choice
Our dance school values and caters to dancers with both recreational and competitive interests. It is NOT a requirement to enter competitions. However, those dancers interested in pursuing that path will be assisted in filing the proper documentation and preparing for their chosen events, in addition to receiving high quality instruction in technique and theory.Competitions List

Primary: Ages 4 to 6Dances:
– Pas De Basques
– Pas De Basques and Highcuts
– Fling
– Sword
Beginnner: Ages 7 and up
Beginner status is held until the competitor completes one of the following, after which that competitor is classified as a Novice.
A) gains a first, second or third prize in a highland dance in six separate Beginner competitions. Highland Dances include: Fling, Sword, Seann Truibhas, and Strathspey & Reel.
B) until twelve months after the first Beginner stamp.

Novice: Ages 7 and up
Novice status is held until the competitor completes one of the following, after which that competitor is classified as a Intermediate.
A) gains a first, second or third prize in six separate Novice competitions.
B) until twelve months after the first Novice stamp.
Dances:
– same as Beginner
Intermediate: Ages 7 and up
Intermediate status is held until the competitor completes one of the following, after which that competitor is classified as a Premier.
A) gains a first, second or third prize in six separate Intermediate competitions.
B) until twelve months after the first Intermediate stamp.

– same dances as Beginner and Novice, plus…
– Irish Jig
– Sailors Hornpipe
– Barracks Johnny
– Highland Laddie
– Full Tulloch
Premier: Ages 7 and up
Championship Dances: (Short steps for ages 11 & Under)
– 6-step Fling
– Sword Dance 3 & 1 (or 2 & 2)
– Sean Truibhas 4 & 2
– a Reel
